Robert Kantar has 40 years of experience working with children who are challenged academically, emotionally, or socially. Educational Resources is prepared to provide options for clients who are experiencing difficulty knowing how to assist their child. Different situations require different solutions and Educational Resources is able to assist families make the best choice to meet the needs of their child.

The following is a list of situations that may require a special needs placement:

• Alcohol and drug related problems
• Eating disorders
• Legal issues
• School failure or non-compliance
• Peer related issues
• ADHD/ADD
• Psychiatric disorders
• Family discord
• Oppositional behavior at home or school
• Trauma or abuse
• Sexually acting out

Educational Resources offers a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of each case. The process includes interviews with the child and family, examination of school records, review of personal records, and contact with professionals working with the client.

Once the evaluation process is complete Educational Resources is able to develop a plan that will best meet the needs of the client and their family. The plan may include short-term placement for children who are in crisis, referral for a psycho-educational evaluation, review of financial resources, and exploration of long-term options.

Educational Resources works directly with schools and programs during the placement process. The primary role of an educational consultant throughout this process is to serve as an advocate for the child and their family. It is important to develop options for the child keeping in mind the needs of the entire family in mind.
